Prof. Dr. med. habil. Thomas Körner

Biography

Professor Thomas Körner studied human medicine at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. Following his state examination and the medical approbation, he continued with a specialist degree for internal medicine from 1984-1988. Professor Thomas Körner received recognition as gastroeneterologist in 1993 and as proctologist in 2006. He completed his doctoral degree in 1985, continued with a habilitation (equiv. post-doc dissertation) and was promoted to professorship in pathology at the University of Applied Medical Sciences Gera in 2007. Since 1994, he is chief medical doctor for gastroenterology, oncology, pneumology and proctology. For the duration of 16 years he worked at the Klinikum Suhl. Since 2010, he works at the Henneberg-Kliniken Hildburghausen; Regio-Med Kliniksverbund.
